Our tumbling program at Thurston Cheer Athletics is designed to support athletes at every stage of their development, from those just starting out to advanced tumblers. We offer a wide range of level-appropriate classes for both boys and girls, ensuring that every participant can build their skills in a structured and safe environment. Our beginner courses focus on foundational movements, while the level one classes progress into walkovers and connections. As athletes gain confidence and strength, they can move into level two for handsprings and cross tumbling, eventually reaching level three to master tucks and beyond.

Tiny Tot Tumblers

(Ages 18 Months–4 Years Old)

Our Tiny Tot Tumblers is a fun and engaging parent-and-tot class designed to introduce our youngest gymnasts to the world of movement. The program focuses on exploring basic tumbling skills, gross motor development, and coordination through playful activities and music in a safe and supportive environment. Parent participation is required to help guide and encourage students as they build confidence and physical foundations. This class provides a wonderful opportunity for little ones to stay active while developing essential social and athletic skills alongside their caregivers.

Beginner Tumbling

Beginner Tumbling is the perfect starting point for athletes looking to build their skills from the ground up. This class is designed for both recreational and competitive students who want to develop foundational tumbling techniques while improving their overall flexibility and strength. Participants will focus on mastering the basics in a fun and empowering atmosphere that encourages growth and confidence. No prior experience is required, making it an ideal environment for anyone ready to move their body and start their tumbling journey with expert guidance.

Level 1 Tumbling

Level 1 Tumbling is designed for athletes who have mastered the basics and are ready to elevate their skills with greater precision and control. This class focuses on building a strong technical foundation by introducing more advanced movements such as round-offs and both back and front walkovers. Coaches emphasize proper form, strength, and connecting basic tumbling passes to help students transition toward higher-level skills. It is an energetic environment where athletes receive individualized feedback to help them unleash their full potential and gain the confidence needed to progress in their tumbling journey.

Level 2 Tumbling

Level 2 Tumbling is designed for athletes who have a solid foundation in Level 1 skills and are eager to master more complex maneuvers. In this dynamic class, the focus shifts to linking skills together and developing the power and technique required for advanced passes, including standing back handsprings and round-off back handsprings. Students are introduced to back tuck drills and series tumbling while emphasizing the strength, flexibility, and precision necessary for safety and success. Our instructors provide expert guidance in a progressive and encouraging atmosphere, helping every athlete push their limits and achieve new heights in their tumbling journey.

Level 3 Tumbling

Level 3 Tumbling is designed for athletes ready to transition from advanced to elite-level maneuvers. In this high-energy class, the focus shifts to adding significant difficulty and developing the explosive power required for complex passes. Athletes work on perfecting standing back handspring series, round-off back handspring tucks, and repping consistent back tucks. The curriculum emphasizes the strength, flexibility, and precision necessary to execute series tumbling safely and effectively. Our expert instructors provide the technical guidance and encouragement needed to help athletes push their boundaries and achieve their next set of ambitious tumbling goals.
